Switched-Mode Power Supply
A switched-mode power supply (SMPS), also called switching-mode power supply. Just as its name implies，Switched-Mode Power Supply is a device that turns voltage and current on or off. An Power adapter or AC/dc adapter, also called a wall charger, power adapter, is a type of external power supply, often enclosed in a case similar to an AC plug. A power adapter is a power supply conversion device for small portable electronic devices and electronic appliances. It is used to convert AC input into DC output. It can be divided into wall-mount type and desktop type according to the connection method. It is commonly seen in laptops, routers, etc. According to the power type, it can be classified into direct output mode and AC output mode. There are more types. Including outdoor waterproof power adapters, desktop power adapters, wall plug-in power adapters, etc. The power adapter is small in size, easy to carry, and relatively safe. A charger is an electronic device whose main function is to convert power (AC or DC) into the appropriate current and voltage for battery charging. Usually, some people call the power adapter a charger, while others simply call a charger by that name. The charger is include in the power adapter, but the power adapter is not part of a charger.
Switching power supplies are relatively easy to distinguish, but they are often mixed together in life and are difficult to distinguish. They are all called chargers.
