Product Description
There are two main designs of power supplies: linear power supplies and Switch Power Supply.
Linear power supplies are designed to use transformers to reduce the input voltage, then rectify the voltage and convert it to DC voltage, and then filter it to improve the waveform quality. The linear regulator dissipates any excess energy in the form of heat.
Switching power supply is a relatively new approach to design, which can solve many problems in linear Ultra Thin Switching Power Supply design, including transformer size and voltage regulation problems. In the design of Switch Mode Power Supply, the input voltage is no longer reduced, but rectified and filtered at the input end. Then it is converted into high frequency pulse train by chopper. Before the voltage reaches the output, it is filtered and rectified again.
